Workshop Description: This introductory workshop illustrates a modern approach to music theory and how it is applied to the modern audio market place. The students will learn to create energy, emotion and mood through their own compositions in the recording process. This workshop will also provide the students with hands-on-training on a musical instrument within an IPad and/or Mac Laptop computer. The students will focus on the key fundamental elements in music such as rhythm, harmony, melody, form and texture. The students will learn the basics in ear training and how it is applied to audio engineering.

Successful completion of this workshop will enable the student to:

• Understand energy, emotion and mood in music and sound.
• Explain and illustrate the fundamental elements in music theory.
• Demonstrate music composition in audio engineering.
• Employ rhythm, harmony, melody, form and texture in recording music.
